Hey, Ya'll,

I've been doing lots of little baby steps here and there and trying not to get overwhelmed by all the projects I want to do! It's hard to strike the balance between preserving memories and making them...do you ever feel that way? This month, I opened a little file box I have in my scrap space and went through lots of OLD photos. I had spent some time in the last few years organizing that box and at least, I can say that much. They are mostly organized but they aren't in albums and probably never will be totally?! But I had to remind myself that it's about getting more done than I would have if I got completely overwhelmed and didn't do anything. Let's keep working on our baby steps and be thankful for what we do get done in the craziness of real life. : )

Then and Now Sisters

As you can see, this was a super simple page...just a 12 x 12 sheet, some letter stamps and 2 flourish stamps. I talk a lot in my YouTube videos about getting "caught up" in the artistic side of my layouts...I really enjoy that but I also see the value in just getting the photos and stories onto pages. I'm always trying to strike a balance between the two. Do you ever feel that way?...want to "play" with colors, patterns and textures but feeling the need to "get more done"?? How do you deal with that?...I'd love to chat about it on my Facebook page ...come tell us what you think.

I love doing Then and Now layouts...this one is about me and my little sister. The left photo is from 1999 and the right one is from 2010. She's 9 years younger than me and was only 11 when I got married so most of our relationship has been sporadic but recently we've been texting back and forth about Paleo recipes and fun stuff like that...so I wrote about that and about remembering when Mom and Dad brought her home from the hospital and some other random memories...sometimes I think that my pages are a bit random...my journaling is often then and now and other stuff related to the photos...just whatever I'm thinking about at the time. : )

Supplies:

Background Paper: from DCWV - Die Cuts with a View paper pack from Michaels called The Old World Stack

Letter stamps: foam stamps - not sure where from

Flourish stamps from Inkadinkado Sketchy Flourishes 97632

Camping 2 page Layout

Do you like 2 page layouts?...I often feel like I "need" a 2 page layout 'cause I usually use lots of photos and do a lot of journaling...but sometimes I don't want to have to do the design work for a 2 page layout so I'll use mini books on my pages. And sometimes I'll do my journaling on the back if it "doesn't fit" on the front.

For this layout, I used some tan card stock, some photos, stamps and the brochure from the camp ground. So, easy!

Supplies:

The letter stamps are a set I got at Michaels recently.

The arrows are also a mini set I picked up at Michaels for $1.50 in a little turn around bin.

The circle stamps are from Technique Tuesday - Back Rounds Large

What about next month?

You just never know. We'll see...stay tuned to Youtube to find out.

Until sometime around the middle of February
