Every month you can count on fresh, free ideas for your scrapbooking! And here’s another thought. Every month, put the new issue in a folder in your email software and when you sit down to scrapbook, you’ll have tons of ideas right at your fingertips.

* Disclaimer: I don't put links to any of the layouts or cards from my e-zine issues but search engines do find them...including my own on this site. I've decided to keep it this way 'cause it helps my traffic. How's that for a "real-life" disclaimer for you? : ) There's also 1 set of my YouTube videos where I show a good bit of a paperbag scrapbook that I featured in an e-zine edition. I do the very best I can to give you fresh content each month. Thanks!

Ephemera from the Dating Years

As I was looking through "old" stuff/photos to try to decide what to work on, I found a list I had made shortly before I met my husband. I was a teenager and my Mom encouraged me to make a list of what I was looking for in a husband. I used 2 categories: "Must be" and "Would be nice if" and that was 15 years ago this month. My husband pretty much fits all the things on the list...well, mostly...but it was really fun to look back on that. So, I decided to scrapbook it but the photo I used was from last Summer so it is kind of a "Then and Now" layout...love those!!!

So, I used a blue/purple textured/patterned paper for the background. Then, I cut a strip of paper from the same paper pack (with a lot more pattern on it but still in the same colors) and added it to the left side of the layout. Next, I inked around the edges of the chip board pieces and smeared some glitter glue over the tops of them. Finally, I added the 3 x 4 photo and inked around the edges of the 12 x 12 card stock.

Supplies:

Background paper: DCWV Die Cuts with a View paper pack called The Old World Stack - got it at Michael's

Chip Board Pieces - Big Board Chipboard Paisley Pieces from Fancy Pants Designs. Item #953

Say Cheese - Then and Now

Here's a fun look at my oldest at 9 months or so and also at 9 years and 9 months...very close to 9 years apart. I love "Then and Now" layouts...it is cool to see the passage of time in photos right next to each other.

I've always tended to work "in series" - that's just what I call it when I use similar techniques and products on layouts that are made in the same "season of life" - so, recently I've been using a certain paper pack and cut-outs from the paper pack for my 2013 Project Life inspired album and I used many of the same products on this layout. The Polaroid strip on the right side, the tickets along the bottom, the "Say Cheese" title are all from the DCWV paper pack I used for this album.

Supplies:

Background paper: DCWV paper pack called The Snapshop Stack

Embellishments: cut-outs from the same paper pack

Blue Letter Stickers: Making Memories 5/16" Chunky Teal Item#12792 - these have been in my stash for a LONG time...not sure if they are still available.

What about next month?

You just never know. We'll see...stay tuned to Youtube to find out.

Until sometime around the middle of September
