Hey, Ya'll,

Ok, so I'm still doing gardening, yard work, homeschooling and normal life. But I have been working 30 minutes a day to bring you some new digital scrapbook layouts. If you follow my YouTube channel , you've seen my progress a little at a time. I follow a lot of what Flylady says because it keeps me from being overwhelmed. I can get things done 30 minutes at a time. She says 15 minutes at a time but sometimes I don't feel like that is quite enough for me so 30 works quite well.

This month, I did a formal, posed family portrait type layout and an everyday-real-life-imperfect-reality-layout. Quite often, when I look back at other layouts I've done, I really love the REAL ones...you know the mess on the floor, the dishes in the sink, the not so great hair days! Those are the mundane things in life that we remember. But, it is also SO nice to clean up and get some posed shots. So, I brought you both.

There are a few ways to keep in touch - you can visit my site over at free-scrapbooking-ideas-and-videos.com or follow along with my weekly adventures over at the good old blog - racheltaylor.wordpress.com or subscribe to my YouTube channel - ThankYouLord for ideas, videos, website resource finds and reviews or great deals like this...where to get 100 photo prints shipped to you for just 1.99!

Here are the same pages I featured last month (just in case you got overwhelmed and haven't tried them yet : )

12 x 12 Layout Ideas -

Taylor Family

Taylor Family – "Patterned background papers by Jeanine Baechtold available at ComputerScrapbook.com" The kit is called Essence.

I wanted something that looked a bit sophisticated for this photo. My Uncle took it while we were at my cousin's wedding in Mobile earlier this month. He was taking family pics of my other cousins and their families. It was nice to take advantage of the fact that we were already dressed and could take a formal type photo without having to plan and set aside an entire afternoon with a photographer. This was a very simple layout to do. I used one of the patterned papers from the kit called “Essence” at ComputerScrapbook.com. It already had the fading around the edges. I also used the blue ribbon element and the blue coaster circle element. Then on top of the blue circles, I placed the flower stamp elements. I love the way it turned out. I challenged myself to try something new on this layout so I headed over to Jessica Sprague's Photoshop Friday tutorials and tried softening the photo. I love the way it turned out too...kind of dreamy looking. So, I'm learning digital a little bit at a time...the Flylady way. I can't say that I could do the effect by memory...I'd have to look at the tutorial again but that's ok. Try something new yourself...you'll be glad you did!

April 2010 - "Patterned background papers by Jeanine Baechtold available at ComputerScrapbook.com" The kit is called FunFloral.

So, if you read my blog...which I update every now and then....you know that these were some photos I almost deleted. Then I thought, “These are the everyday things of life...the “real” stuff that goes on and I want to document it too. Someday, I'll look back on those nice Spring days and remember painting and doing a few projects around the house. The plan is to type out a page of journaling to go with this because I just couldn't find a place on the page that journaling would look nice. That is one thing I miss about paper scrappping – I could always make a pocket for the journaling. : ) All of the elements and papers came from the FunFloral kit at ComputerScrapbook.com.

Card Making Ideas - I am going to pass on these this month since I am already behind. This is July's ezine that I am just getting out. I am going to start working on August's now...30 minutes at a time. : )

Until sometime around the middle of August…

Send Me Your Layouts...
